Quite pleasant but a bit expensive. Could not get toasted sandwich or toasted teacake between 11.30 and 12 noon (=hot food) because cooks are having a rest!

Unusual food for such a small cafe, but very good. Prices reasonable, and attached to the minster shop. In Southwell village, nice place to visit, with free parking for 2 hours.
It depends whether you want the old elegance of the Saracen's Head a few steps away or the new elegance of the Refectory. Both have better than average food at somewhat higher than average prices. Expect several notches better than regular pub fare.But this is not a stop for prices as much as it is for good service and a pleasant decor. If you're visiting the Minster, it's the right place for tea. Consider too the option of takeaway and sitting in the lovely green beside the church. Or, if budget is a concern there are several value oriented eateries within 100 meters.
